Swim School Levels
For the health and well-being of all SwimTastic customers, swimming caps are compulsory for all swimmers 3 years of age and over. Wearing of swim caps allows for better breathing mechanics, speed and goggles stay on better. Please remember your swim cap each lesson, as your child will not be able to enter the water without one - you will be able to purchase another from reception, or have it added to your account.
Babies Program
Waterbabies (6 months – 18 months)
A fun swim class to begin teaching swimming skills while developing water awareness and water safety. Children are accompanied in the water by parent or designated adult. Children learn to take instructions from parent as the instructor teaches techniques and holds with the parents. Children progress WITH REAL SWIMMING SKILLS as they get comfortable in the water. We use toys and games to make swimming exciting and fun. Babies must wear an elastic leg swim diaper. E.g. Huggies Swim Nappy. The need for the parent is phased out in preparation of the child moving into pre-school levels.

Aquatots (18 months – 2.5 years)

Aquatots Advanced (2 years – 3 years)
Children are accompanied in the water by parent or designated adult. Lessons focus on independent propulsion and movement through the water, water safety skills and preparation for moving into the preschool programme.

PreSchool Program
PreSchool Tadpoles (3 years – 4.5 years)
From the frightened-of-water stage to reluctance to put their heads under. We work on putting face underwater, kicking feet, arm strokes, blowing bubbles, back float, and learning through games. OUR GOAL: Children will be able to jump in the water and submerge, make swim motions with arms and blow bubbles.

PreSchool Starfish (3 years – 4.5 years)
Should be able to jump in the water, put face under water with ease, and make swimming motions and splash feet at the same time. We work on strength in kicking, rhythmic breathing, survival floating, rolling over to a back float, sculling on back, sky tower float, diving off the side.

PreSchool Superfish (3.5 years – 4.5 years)
Develop freestyle stroke and breathing position, backstroke, dolphin wriggles, treading water, and surface diving.

Expand freestyle stroke, breathing with endurance, backstroke, butterfly stroke, surface dives, survival floating.

School Age Programme (5 years +)
Real Beginner
From the frightened-of-water stage to reluctance to put their heads under. Introduction to floating, breath-control and arm and leg movement. Reinforcement of water safety and survival. Emphasis will first be on getting used to being in the water and water being on the face. We teach skills for freestyle, backstroke, treading water and more. Enjoyable activities including picking up rings, kickboard races etc. Each child is treated with age and skill appropriate activities. Most children at this stage learn very quickly.

Beginner 2
Development of rolling from front to back, rolling to breathe, further independence with backstroke, and introduction to dolphin wriggles.

Beginner Advanced
For children who can swim a little but are not confident in breathing. We review basic strokes and teach freestyle, backstroke, diving off side, survival float and more. A strong emphasis will be on stroke efficiency and correct technique. Children learn fast and are proud of what they can now perform.

Improver
Stroke and technique refinement in freestyle, backstroke plus an introduction to breaststroke and butterfly. Swimmers in this level are expected to be able to swim 15m freestyle and they will be challenged up to 25m.

Improver Advanced
Refinement of technique in all strokes, and building stamina. A swimmer at this level is expected to be able to swim 20m Freestyle. This level is the last 30 minute class before swimmers move into the 45 minute squads. To prepare swimmers for the squads swimmers are extended over 50m repeats to help build their stamina.

Squads
Mini Squad Bronze
Preliminary introduction to training and the benefits of group swimming.
Lesson Duration: 45 Minutes
Mini Squad Silver
Training and stroke refinement within group environment. Emphasis is on Breaststroke and Butterfly.
Lesson Duration: 45 Minutes
Mini Squad Gold
Continued development of training etiquette. Emphasis is on Medley swimming, starts and turns.
Lesson Duration: 45 Minutes
Dolphins
Emphasis on endurance training, covering all strokes, starts and turns.
Lesson Duration: 45 Minutes
Sharks
Entry level training squad covering all competitive strokes, starts and turns, with instruction conducted from the pool side. Training sets, aerobic conditioning and technique. In this squad swimmers will need to have their own set of hand paddles, which are also used in the Junior Stingrays and Stingrays.
Lesson Duration: 1 Hour
Junior Stingrays & Stingrays
Formal training squad covering all competitive strokes, starts and turns. Final stage to encourage into competitive swimming.

- We do not take pencil bookings. Once a booking has been made, it is taken as a confirmed booking and any withdrawal from the programme will incur a $50.00 Administration Fee.
- SwimTastic has the right to change any teacher at any time at our discretion
- SwimTastic offers ONE make up lesson per term, due to illness of the parent/caregiver or child (from week 3 of the term onwards only), subject to availability.
